Expedition Experiences​

• Ancient Wilds of Yakushima: Picture yourself walking through a forest in Yakushima, Japan’s very first UNESCO World Heritage Site. You'll hike under giant, moss-covered trees—some of these ancient cedars have been around for thousands of years. Perhaps spot some of the island's unique wildlife in this incredibly peaceful place.

• Samurai and Ceramic Traditions: Take a relaxed stroll through Hagi, to wander past beautifully preserved samurai homes and old castle ruins. Experience the city's famous Hagiyaki pottery—prized by tea masters for centuries.

• Layered History in Nagasaki: Step back in time at Dejima Island, a historic spot that served as Japan's only gateway to the outside world during the isolated Edo period. Visit the moving Nagasaki Peace Memorial Park, a beautiful, quiet space to pause and appreciate this resilient city.

• A South Korean Detour: Cross the sea to explore Busan, a high-energy coastal city in South Korea where two different worlds meet.  Experience the lively urban fish market and wander a peaceful, centuries-old Buddhist temple tucked on a cliffside over the ocean.
